BUILT promotes awareness of Albany’s built environment and raises funds for preservation efforts. For the past 12 years we’ve used our annual art exhibit & silent auction to highlight the issue of vacant buildings in Albany. With BUILT, we extend this artistic lens not just on vacant architecture, but onto Albany’s entire BUILT environment. A portion of the proceeds from the reception and art sales will benefit the Foundation’s programming and technical services.

This year, we are proud to present, with Columbia Development & BBL Hospitality, BUILT at the DeWitt Clinton Hotel. This 1927 building in the heart of downtown Albany is being transformed into a boutique hotel and will include the building's original lobby and grand ballroom.

The revitalization of this historic building fits perfectly with BUILT's mission of promoting awareness of Albany's changing built environment. Yes, the building is still under construction - all event spaces are nearly complete. BUILT 2014 is an exclusive first look at the DeWitt Clinton Hotel as an event space.

Historic Albany Foundation invites artists of all ages and skill levels to submit work.  All submitted artwork should speak to the buildings of Albany's past, present, & future and their impact on Albany’s built and social environments.

In addition to photography and traditional artwork, Historic Albany is encouraging and opening its "window" to a broader range of media; including items constructed from salvage, textiles, metalworking, graphic media, etc.

Participating artists will receive 50% of the proceeds of any work displayed and sold at the event; the remaining 50% will benefit Historic Albany Foundation.
