As a part of our mission to promote the appreciation of Albany's magnificent architecture, Historic Albany hosts an annual House & Garden Tour showcasing 10-15 historic buildings and their gardens. The tour moves from neighborhood to neighborhood highlighting the very best in Albany's architecture and ongoing preservation efforts.
Prepaid tickets on sale through June 19th: $15/person
From June 20th through day of event, June 26th: $20/person

About the tour:
Historic Albany Foundation and Center Square Neighborhood Association, in partnership with Audubon New York and Audubon Society of the Capital Region, will host the 39th annual Hidden City House and Garden Tour on Thursday, June 26, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. This self-guided garden tour downtown will feature beautiful, historic homes and their accompanying gardens in Albany’s oldest neighborhoods - with an urban birding twist.

to maintain native plants, eliminate artificial fertilizers, and
and cover for wild birds. Demonstration sites along the tour route, run
Audubon Society Fellow, Laura McCarthy, will showcase the joy of urban
and backyard birds.
Other highlights of the tours include a charming garden on Jay Street that features a specimen tree peony, climbing roses, a pergola with a heritage hops vine, and many other plants. A mature garden on Lancaster Street boasts a fountain, climbing roses, and old magnolia trees bearing scars of a former wisteria vine.Never been on the tour? Here's how it works:
Once your tickets have been purchased, your name(s) will go on the prepaid guest list for the day of the tour. We cannot give out tickets (the tickets act as your map and program as well) ahead of time in order to maintain the privacy of the gracious homeowners that are opening up their homes and gardens to the public on the day of the tour!
Tickets can be picked up (for the prepaid individuals) AND purchased from 4-7pm at the designated pick up location. The tour is a self-guided, go-at-you-own-pace, whatever-order-you-desire type tour! Most of the homes are within walking distance to one another.
