On behalf of Historic Albany Foundation, we would like to invite you to serve on the 2016 Honorary Committee of the Foundation's fall fundraising event: BUILT: Albany's Architecture Through Artists' Eyes. Join us for BUILT, an art show that celebrates Albany. This exciting and unique event is now in its 15th year and Historic Albany is proud to demonstrate our mission through this art show and silent auction of regional artists' work inspired by Albany's built environment.
This year, Historic Albany is partnering with Breathing Lights, a public art project that will illuminate vacant buildings in Albany, Schenectady & Troy in October and November. It is to this end that we are excited to announce this year’s Honorary Chairs: Mayor Patrick Madden of Troy, Mayor Gary McCarthy of Schenectady & Mayor Kathy Sheehan of Albany. All three mayors were instrumental in bringing this project and its support from Bloomberg Philanthropies to our region. We are grateful that Breathing Lights will further illuminate an issue that Historic Albany has been studying and combating for many years: vacancy.
Many of you may remember that BUILT began as Vacancy, an event with art based on vacant buildings.
