ALBANY, NY – September 19, 2000 – Historic Albany Foundation has released its list of Preservation Merit Award winners for the year 2000. The awards will be presented at Historic Albany Foundation’s Annual Meeting, being held this year at the Albany Pump Station on Tuesday, September 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. “Preservation Merit Awards are presented each year at Historic Albany Foundation’s Annual Meeting to recognize outstanding completed preservation efforts,” said Elizabeth Griffin, Executive Director. According to Clare Yates, President of Historic Albany Foundation’s Board of Directors, “We are also pleased to recognize individuals or organizations who have shown preservation leadership in an historic district with Preservation Initiative Awards.” The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to celebrate an individual’s superlative preservation efforts, and continuing contributions to the stewardship of Albany’s built environment.
