Arguably Albany's best architect, Hooker designed the old Albany Academy,
and Hyde Hall, which will be seen in June on our Cooperstown tour.
Mr. Wheeler is an architectural historian with Hartgen and Associates,
and is co-author of a book on Philip Hooker, A Neat Plain Modern Stile,
and the recently published The Marble House in Second Street. The
Fort Orange Club (also designed by Hooker) is at 110 Washington Avenue,
between Swan and Dove Streets.
