News HISTORIC ALBANY FOUNDATION PRESENTS LIVING PRESERVATION WORKSHOPS Flawless Repair For Your Plaster Walls and Ceilings For Release: Immediate Contact: 518-465-0876 ALBANY, NY -- August 22, 2001 -- As part of its Living Preservation series, Historic Albany Foundation will present Flawless Repair For Your Plaster Walls and Ceilings on Saturday, September 22, 2001. The workshop will be presented at 335 State Street in Albany from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Cracked plaster walls, ceilings, and ornamental moldings are one of the drawbacks of owning an old home. This seminar will demonstrate how plaster can be repaired and what the homeowner can do on his or her own. While this will not be a hands-on workshop, wear clothes suitable for a construction site. Michael J. Ryan is the owner of Plasterworks. He primarily works on restorations and renovations, from one wall to complete churches. He holds a degree in Pottery from Skidmore College. Projects include restoration work at Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, and other notable sites. Made possible in part by a grant from the New York State Council for the Arts, Architecture, Planning & Design program, this workshop will offer ample time for questions and answers. Light refreshments will be served. The workshop is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. For more information, call the Foundation at 518-465-0876.
