ALBANY, NY -- May 21, 2002 -- In a letter from the Capital Region Democratic delegation of the State Assembly, Historic Albany Foundation learned of a $3,000 line item in the New York State Budget, passed on Thursday, May 16.

The letter, from Assemblyman Ronald Canestrari, Assemblyman Paul D. Tonko, and Assemblyman John J. McEneny, reads in part:

    Dear Ms. Griffin:

We are delighted to advise you that we were able to secure for Historic Albany Foundation, through the New York State Budget, an allocation of $3,000.

The funding that the Historic Albany Foundation is receiving is recognition of the fine work that you are doing and certainly reflects the respect and gratitude that we have for your efforts. The amount of funding was very limited: however, we are pleased that we were able to obtain $3,000.

One of our top priorities as legislators is to be instrumental in providing monetary assistance to an organization, such as the Historic Albany Foundation, and we are pleased to be able to help in that regard.
