TILE RESTORATION & MAINTENANCE
WITH DONALD SHORE OF L’ESPERANCE ALBANY, NY – December 22, 2004 – Historic Albany Foundation presents the first Living Preservation Workshop of 2005. Donald Shore, an owner of L’Esperance, an Albany business which specializes in custom-made encaustic, geometric, mosaic, and other traditional ceramic tiles, will lead this workshop on historic tiles. L’Esperance has worked on the English Minton tiles in St. Joseph’s Church. Donald Shore will talk about the history and manufacture of these historic tiles, as well as others more commonly found in historic homes in the Capital region. Shore will use his many years of experience making and restoring historic tiles to demonstrate and teach how to maintain and repair these tiles – what homeowners can do themselves and when they need to call in the experts. Historic Albany Foundation will host the workshop on Saturday, January 8th, from 10am to 12 noon. Registration cost is $5 for members of Historic Albany Foundation, and $10 for the general public. Reservations are required. For location information, or to make a reservation, contact Erin Tobin Bearden at 518-465-0876. ### and Architectural Parts Warehouse 89 Lexington Avenue Albany, NY 12206 518/465-0876 www.historic-albany.org |
