Albany Foundation Presents
2005 Preservation Merit Awards at Annual Meeting ALBANY, NY -- May 24, 2005 -- Historic Albany Foundation has released its list of Preservation Merit Award winners for 2005. The awards will be presented at The Chancery of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany on Thursday, May 26, 2005 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Located at One Sprague Place on Washington Park, the Chancery was designed by McKim, Mead and White in 1902 for Benjamin Arnold, a lumber dealer, banker, and railroad president. “We are delighted to recognize the outstanding completed preservation efforts that make it possible for us to continue celebrating our city’s magnificent built environment,” said Elizabeth Griffin, the Foundation’s Executive Director. The ceremony is open to the public. Suggested donation is $10, to help defray the cost of the reception, which includes wine and hors d’oeuvres.
