Adjacent to this historic neighborhood stands the commercial center of New York's Capital City. Downtown Albany is home to local, state and federal government agencies, financial and professional institutions, as well as a great number of private sector companies. 

Downtown Albany is also rich in cultural and entertainment facilities, including Capital Repertory Theater, the historic Palace Theater (home of the Albany Symphony Orchestra), the Pepsi Arena, the Albany Institute of History & Art, the Albany Center Galleries and the New York State Museum. 

The city enjoys convenient access to the nearby Amtrak passenger rail station, an advanced highway system, local mass transit, and is a ten-minute drive from the newly expanded Albany International Airport. Within walking distance are over 1,000 parking spaces.
