Executive Director

Historic Albany Foundation (HAF) is seeking a creative nonprofit executive to lead the organization and establish a renewed vision for its future.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced director, possess collaborative, strategic and entrepreneurial skills, and have a passion for historic preservation and a deep commitment to the mission of the organization. This full-time, salaried position reports directly to the President and Board of Directors and is based at HAF’s offices at 89 Lexington Avenue in Albany.

Architectural Parts Warehouse Manager

Historic Albany Foundation (HAF) is seeking a creative and proactive self-starter with retail experience and construction knowledge to oversee the operation of the Capital Region’s only not-for-profit architectural salvage parts warehouse. The Warehouse Manager position is a part-time position.

The Historic Albany Architectural Parts Warehouse has been serving the City of Albany, the Greater Capital Region and the Northeast for 40 years. As a recipient of building part donations and through historic property salvages, the Parts Warehouse prevents historic building parts from being lost forever to the landfills.

The mission is to retain Albany’s architectural parts for reuse in local properties at an affordable price. In recognition and celebration of its 40 years of operation, Historic Albany Foundation is in the middle of a project assessing ways in which this business enterprise can be improved and enhanced. Business improvement strategies for the Warehouse has been the focus of this project - funded by the Bender Family Foundation and other community sponsors.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced retail manager, a handy “do-it-yourselfer” having excellent customer service skills, an interest or passion for historic preservation, recycling and reuse, and a flexible availability.
