We were overjoyed to see so many people attend our Rehab Faire & Open House with September - we hope to be continuing this event in the future.
The purpose of this event was to work with the Albany County Lank Bank to show some of the great property opportunities available in Albany’s South End, and to provide advice to potential buyers of historic homes in general (including financial incentives, permits, & more).
The following open houses were available to see at our most recent Rehab Faire - click on the addresses below for their individual listing
A full map of the open houses can be found here
Attendees got the low-down on what they needed to know to rehab a historic home and make it their own.
Speakers gave 25 minute presentations discussing and answering questions about:
how to apply for a land bank building,
the building permitting process,
navigating the Certificate of Appropriateness process for buildings in local historic districts,
what incentives are available from the Federal and NYS rehabilitation tax credits
grants and programs from Albany Community Development Agency and South End Improvement Corporation,
educational programs and mortgage information from the Affordable Housing Partnership.
Speakers also tabled throughout the afternoon to answer your questions one on one about you project.
