Wood Species Identification & Common Old House Myths

  • 89 Lexington Avenue Albany NY 12206 United States (map)

Join us Wednesday August 27 as Ian Stewart explores wood identification and debunks common myths about old houses. Drawing from over twenty years in preservation, he’ll address questions such as distinguishing chestnut from pine or red oak from white oak. Participants are encouraged to bring a piece of mystery wood for discussion. The class will also cover a catalogue of prevalent old house myths that Ian has encountered throughout his career.

This lecture has been moved from Common Roots in Albany to the HAF offices on 89 Lexington Avenue.
