About the Young Urban Preservationists of the Capital Region

The Young Urban Preservationists of the Capital Region (YUP//CR) is an active group of architectural history enthusiasts who realize the unique character and wealth of history that exists throughout the Capital Region of New York State. From Dutch to Modern architecture, we are committed to taking a proactive, down to business approach to community conservation and inspire redevelopment. Our efforts are designed to raise awareness of endangered historic resources, engage the community, and identify opportunity for homeownership and creative economic opportunities using the region’s unique historic infrastructure. For those “young at heart” who view preserving the past as an important instrument in designing a brighter future for the Capital Region.
