This Giving Tuesday, HAF is fundraising for the Tool Lending Library!

Founded in 2022 by Kimberly Parker, the Tool Lending Library has made an incredible impact over the past three years. What began with a generous initial donation of tools has grown into a community resource that now houses over 800 tools and serves more than 200 members. This outstanding program supports individuals and families across the Capital District—empowering projects, saving money, and strengthening community connections.

And we’re just getting started.

Big things are coming in 2026!

• We’re partnering with Capital Roots for the 2026 gardening season. Our tool truck will be fully stocked with gardening supplies to help everyone achieve their gardening goals.

• We’re expanding Tool Library hours to better serve our members.

• We’re adding seasonal Repair Cafés—winter, spring, summer, and fall—to help keep your items out of the landfill and in working order.

• We’re offering more workshops for skill-building, creativity, and community learning.

The Tool Lending Library is run entirely by volunteers and supported through generous donations from people like you. Your contribution helps us purchase new tools, maintain our current inventory, and continue growing this extraordinary program.
