Step behind the scenes of history with Historic Albany Foundation for an exclusive members-only tour of the archaeological excavation of Albany's historic Lock One of the Erie Canal. The excavation is being led by Albany Waterway Inc., with approval by the NYS Department of Transportation.  The tour and talk will be led by civil engineer Andy Wolf and archaeologist Denis Foley.

Join us for this complimentary rare opportunity to visit an active excavation, hear directly from those involved in the project, and discover how Lock One and the Erie Canal helped transform Albany into one of America's most important commercial cities and deemed New York the Empire State!

LOCATION AND PARKING:  Parking for the Lock One dig is located under 787 off of the Colonie Street Exit.  The parking lot is on your left (next to the Hudson River).  This is the parking lot where you can also access the boat launch.
